Career Service Awards went to five recipients whose work has demonstrated long-term impact on the in- dustry. The five are Maureen Atkinson, a senior partner at J.C. Williams Group Ltd., Toronto; Renato Cavalli, director of Prassicoop Soc. Coop., Milan; Milton Cockburn, adviser, Shopping Centre Council of Australia; Tim Corzine, a vice president of research at Macerich, Phoenix; and William Mc- Collum, a consultant who has worked at leading retail devel- opment companies and who was chief investment officer of Berkshire Development. Gold Medallion Awards, given for more-recent contribu- tions to ICSC's research activities, were awarded to James Brown, head of EMEA retail research and consulting at JLL, London; John Crombie, senior vice president of retail leasing at Triovest Realty Advisors Inc., Toronto; Meredith Darnall, vice president of strategy and research at General Growth Properties, Chicago; Cristina Vigoya Linares, ex- ecutive director for property at Marca Tactica, Santiago De Cali, Colombia; Cecilia Matos, group vice president for area research at Macy's, Inc., Cincinnati; Eri Mitsostergiou, director of European research at Savills Studley, London; and Morgan Parker, COO of Dubai Holding's Mall of the World, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. "These recipients," said Jean Lambert, ICSC's vice presi- dent of research, "join a prestigious group of researchers from North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America who have gone the extra step in sharing their time, talents and efforts with the ICSC community over the years." S C T ICSC honors a group of research volunteers from around the globe REWARDS OF RESEARCH Talent pool • Denver-based development firm McWhinney hired Kyle Har- ris as vice president of community development and general manager of the company's 935-acre, master-planned North Park project, in Broomfield, Colo. Harris comes to McWhin- ney after 11 years at Granby Ranch, a 5,000-acre community, where he was CEO and vice president of development. • Rockville, Md.–based Federal Realty Investment Trust hired Bryan Furze as vice president of asset management for the Northeast region. Furze will be based in Somerville, Mass., and oversee the performance of the firm's Boston and New York City portfolios. Furze most recently worked for Linear Re- tail Properties, where he was vice president of asset manage- ment and development. • Fort Lauderdale, Fla.–based Stiles named Ken Stiles co- CEO. He will work alongside his father, Chairman and CEO Terry Stiles. Ken joined the company 11 years ago. Most re- cently, he was executive vice president, in which post he man- aged communications with partners and worked with the in- vestment team to identify new business opportunities. The firm also named Scott MacLaren president. MacLaren, who joined Stiles in 1999 and most recently led the company's growth ef- forts in North Carolina, succeeds Doug Eagon. Eagon, who has been with Stiles since 1981, now becomes vice chairman. Terry Stiles has been at the helm for some 45 years. He plans to vacate his chief executive post by mid-2017, whereupon Ken Stiles will succeed him as CEO. The elder Stiles will re- main chairman of the board.
