Shannon and JJ are, respectively, the wife and the son of Lululemon Athletica founder Chip Wilson. And Shannon is well known for her former role as a lead designer at Lululemon Athletica, where she designed some of the company's inCe itS LAunCh bAreLy 18 months ago, Kit and Ace has amassed a network of stores in four countries. by year-end, this Vancouver, british Columbia–based ap- parel chain expects to have somewhere between 30 and 50 shops operating across Canada, the u.S., the u.K. and Australia. More- over, the company announced plans to open an additional 24 shops by the end of first-quarter 2016 and to expand into Japan in the near future. this might seem like astounding growth for such a young chain, but founders Shan- non and JJ Wilson are able to draw from a deep background in retail and fashion — not to men- tion some very close family ties to another international retail success story: Lululemon. most successful products, such as the groove pants and the logo hoodie. JJ grew up immersed in the family busi- ness, having spent every day he could from the age of 10 in the Lululemon stores with his father, watching the busi- ness develop. he went on to complete a degree in retail merchandising from ryerson university, in toronto. he worked at Canadian department store holt renfrew doing trend forecasting for the men's buying team, was employed at private equity firm Advent international, and managed menswear label Wings & horns, where he successfully launched the e-commerce operations.
