Washington Real Estate investment Trust, a REiT that buys and manages properties in the Washington, d.c., metro area, named him managing director and vice president of the retail division in February. WRiT's retail portfolio comprises 16 properties totaling some 2.4 million square feet in the aggregate. That childhood fascination with architec- ture led Weinschenk to complete a degree in architecture from the University of Virginia. But doubts began to rise.
