Advertisement Why Save-A-Lot? As one of the fastest growing grocery chains in the nation, it is no surprise that Save-A-Lot is aggressively searching for suitable locations to meet its expansion needs. Our company is a wholly owned subsidiary of SUPERVALU, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest retailers and suppliers in the grocery industry. Save-A-Lot redefnes convenience for the diverse needs of our customers. From selecting sites to the layout of the store to the hours we operate and the grocery items we provide, our goal is to deliver increasingly greater convenience and extreme value. Our chain emphasizes good visibility and easy access and prefers to go into centers with other valueoriented tenants, including auto parts stores, discount clothing stores and dollar stores. Also, with the recent increase of medical clinics in retail centers, Save-ALot has a keen interest in partnering as co-tenants. Save-a-Lot, which is open to going into second generation spaces, has had good luck over the years leasing boxes that formerly belonged to supermarkets and drug stores. Averaging 15,000 square feet in size, we may not always lease the entire box. Rather, we will work with the landlord to bring in another tenant to fll the rest of the space, preferably a valueoriented operator. Save-a-Lot works both in-house and with third party brokers in markets where we are seeking new stores. We are not fnicky when it comes to which brokerage frms and shopping center owners we partner with, we have relationships with both global brokerages and publicly traded REITs and with independent local brokers and property owners. To sum it up, Save-A-Lot values great landlord relationships. Our stores provide stable income production for our landlords and consistent customer traffc. And, our independent retailers are committed to our license business model and meet strict qualifcation requirements.
